From source material to a knowledge base
Preparation and indexing serve different purposes. You can inspect the text and the knowledge built from it.
Prepare readable text
Prepare PDF and EPUB text in PDF Craft. Other source formats can be converted to plain text with external tools before using wg; review complex extraction results against the original.
Build the index
In PDF Craft desktop, create a .wikg text index for a PDF or EPUB. The standalone wg CLI can also extract public entities, relationships, and evidence from prepared text.
Explore and check
Search across indexed documents and jump back to the source in PDF Craft. Use the CLI to explore entities and the passages supporting their relationships.
Go beyond a matching paragraph
A long document can mention the same subject in many places. Bring those clues together without losing the source.

What to expect
PDF Craft desktop currently provides basic full-text indexing and source navigation. Entity relationships and summaries require the standalone wg CLI. Entity extraction focuses on public concepts that can be matched to Wikipedia or Wikidata; private names may be missed. Check important claims against the source. SDPUB's chapter reading graph is a separate reading experience.
